The Daily Squid is the boneless, inkless outlet of David White.
This is his first blog.
David was born in New Hampshire, lives in Brooklyn, and is the producer and editor of The Bridge, a weekly television series on the history of hip hop in New York City, as well as the upcoming series Press Play, a showcase of independent filmmaking in NYC.
He really has no idea why pages like this are meant to be written in the third person.

Hi David,
I’ve seen your video on mediabistro regarding starting your own blog.
I am torn between blogger.com and just registering a domain name (a dot com).
I want to eventually attract and seek out advertising, but I am not a techie…
It seems blogger and google own intellectual rights to reproduce content, which I am not too happy about. But they offer web hosting, etc…
Won’t I have to find a web host and pay more fees than just a startup fee with a dot com?
What do you suggest? I already have a blogger account but I wanted to change the name of it (start over) or delete the old name and it seems way too complicated with google. what a pain!!
The NEW blog will cover a wide range of issues and the format is already laid out on paper.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Kelly
