Dave, Boyz II Men changed your life, but you just probably didn't see the subtle metamorphosis. I would equate it to the fact that butterflies don't notice their change from being a caterpillar into their winged state; it just happened. Fact, the April 1995 edition of the New England Journal of Medicine did a study on the impact of the song "Water Runs Dry" and a person's visual color palate. People who listened to the song had 45% improvement in their range of color, with an emphasis on increased blue hues. Can't argue with science.
